Tango was brought up in London and on a hill farm in Ireland.  At Wye College, London University, she studied Rural Environment Studies and spent several years in Tanzania working with local agricultural extension workers, for Concern, an Irish NGO. The Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) in Suffolk, followed and then she became Northern Regional Manager.

Tango & her husband Tom have an arable farm in Yorkshire. Following their first Stewardship Scheme in 1997, Tango has been holding school farm visits. Tango is also a Trustee of The Country Trust. Tango joined the team of YDRT Trustees in 2022.
