Tim Longstaff

Tees-Swale Metal Mines Project Manager

Tim joined the team in September 2021 and will be leading our involvement in the Tees-Swale metal mines project as part of the ‘Tees-Swale naturally connected’ programme. Tim has 10 years of experience within the Rivers Trust movement gained at the South East Rivers Trust and latterly the River Thame Conservation Trust. He brings experience of leading on a whole range of river and catchment projects including fish passage, water quality, habitat creation and improvement.

Tim has an MSc in Chemistry from Durham University and initially worked as a research chemist at GlaxoSmithKline for 9 years before leaving to follow his passion for freshwater habitats. He studied for an MSc in Aquatic Resource Management at King’s College London and then joined the Rivers Trust world.

Outside of work Tim enjoys riding his bike, playing village cricket, woodworking, fishing and family time with his wife and daughter.
