Volunteer with us

For information about corporate volunteering please click here. Individual volunteers please read on!

Volunteers are invaluable to the YDRT and we are always looking for people to join us in helping to care for our rivers.

  • Would you like to help protect your local environment?
  • Do you enjoy working outside in iconic locations?
  • Would you like to gain practical environmental management skills?
  • Would you like to gain or develop a career in environmental management?
  • Would you like to meet new people?

We can offer a wide range of activities to suit you and fit round your other commitments.

What tasks do volunteers do?

Surveying and sampling

Helping to collect data such as taking water samples or recording the location of Invasive non-native species.

Practical tasks

This covers a wide range of tasks such as balsam bashing, river clean ups, leaky dam construction, tree planting, hedge planting and maintenance, to name but a few.

Desk based activities

Helping to analyse the data collected or help with marketing or social media.

If you have other ways you think you could help we would love to hear from you.
