Douglas Adamson is a member of the Institute of Marketing and has had a long career in advertising and marketing communications. He was a director of one of the largest agencies outside London and ran his own company in Harrogate which included a sales and marketing training division.
Douglas has worked with multi-national clients in Europe and the US and helped set up Shopmobility in Harrogate. He was also a founder of the Friends of Nidderdale AONB and chaired it for 10 years. More recently, Douglas served as Chair of Trustees for the arts charity, Settle Stories.
Douglas has written and self-published two novels and several short stories and regularly contributes editorial pieces for radio for the hard of sight in the Harrogate District.
A keen life-long fisherman and 'birder', Douglas also runs the bird watching group in his home village of Snape.
