About Us

We are a registered charity looking after the rivers, streams and catchments of the rivers Swale, Ure, Nidd, Wharfe and Ouse. We are part of the national Rivers Trust movement which brings together 65 trusts throughout the the UK and Ireland.


Our mission is to enhance and protect our rivers by working at grass roots level to tackle the causes of deterioration in our river habitats and water quality from pollution, physical modifications and the effects of climate change. We also work with partners and the public, encouraging all to value, enjoy and conserve their local rivers.

Our Trustees

We are always looking out for people who care about our rivers and who can help us as a charity, particularly people with expertise in charity fund raising, communications and marketing to help develop and grow our organisation.
