Lucy joined Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust in 2025 as project officer for the Solutions for SUNO project, identifying the optimum locations for nature based solutions to mitigate pressures on the rivers Swale, Ure, Nidd, and Ouse.

Lucy has an MSci in Earth Sciences from the University of Cambridge where she completed a masters project investigating the transport of microplastic from landfill into groundwater. Before joining YDRT, Lucy worked as an assistant analyst in hydrogeology at JBA, developing projects to restore peatland ecologies, modelling diffuse pollutant transport across landscapes and designing Nature based Solutions (NbS) to improve water resources. She enjoys GIS mapping and data analysis, as well as graphical design.

Lucy is a keen caver and spends her free time exploring the underground of the Yorkshire Dales, as well working with fabric and yarn crafts.
